2. Since its formation in January 2015, The African People’s Socialist Party (APSP) amassed incredible support in seven (7) Provinces out of nine (9). The demand for membership forms and party t-shirts by ordinary people is so amazing. The Party will be launched officially on the 28th November 2015 at Maphanga Community Hall, Almansdrift at Dr JS Moroka Local Municipality next to Mable Hall Town.
3. For 2016 local government elections, APSP is almost ready with preparations, the process to compile candidates’ lists is ongoing, the elections manifesto is ready for printing, the election campaign strategy and the party agents training manual are also ready. The APSP will hold its 2016 local government elections summit on the 19-20 December 2015 in Durban, KZN Province.
4. From August 2015 the APSP launched a massline programme called ‘The Status Campaign – Political Revolution for the liberation of the mind’.
This campaign is characterised by all out activities to educate our society about their rights and responsibilities in this democratic dispensation, it gives information and knowledge to the ordinary people and build their capacity and confidence to do things for themselves.
It seeks to create a culture of popular consultation, popular participation for popular democracy.
Among others the programme educates ordinary people about the importance of voting, the relationship between the voter and his/her vote after the elections and during the term of office for those elections. Public service offices and places must really be public places.
Voters must be able to hold the elected public representatives to account.
5. Did you know that the African People’s Socialist Party (APSP) is the political home of the left, it gives hope to the hopeless and it is the Party for all progressive and patriotic forces in South Africa.
It represents the genuine interests and aspirations of the African people within the African Continent and the African Diaspora.
We are opposed to Xenophobia because we believe that the socio-economic problems in Africa are a direct product of poor leadership in Africa.
We have a dream that – one day Africa will be free.
Free from poverty and diseases!!! Free from civil wars and despotic leaders!!!
